Every effort will be made to minimise single occupancy costs

All internal transportation to sites is by private air conditioned coaches or mini-vans.

Full program of seminars and lectures presented by experts in their fields,
professors, scholars, cultural heritage experts, and restoration and conservation

A full day to day itinerary is posted or available upon request.

Group size is kept small 10 people per group to ensure the utmost of “experience of place” and direct contact with the respective lecturer/expert.

Participants should be aware, although internal transportation is provided between sites, these are walking seminars of a duration of 3 to 4 hours a day. Keeping in mind that our sites include Medieval and Renaissance hilltop towns, which involves some uphill walking.

Cost of the seven (7) day or six (6) day excursion is based on double occupancy. We have minimised the single occupancy fee.


Payment for Land Program/excursion may be made by cheque or bank wire transfer to CHWTI registered business account.

Payment for airfare and related travel insurance may be arranged through our recommended licensed travel agent or through a travel professional of your choice.

Please note the cost of the tour is in Canadian dollars. However, as all Land Program costs are in euros, there may be additional surcharges before departure due to currency exchanges. Participants will be advised a month in advance.

Booking Terms and Conditions

Cultural Heritage Walking Tours, Italy is a Canadian based and registered company.

How to book:

  • To book your place please contact the CHWTI office by email to ensure that places are still available, indicating the dates of choice and the number of participants.
  • To secure your place for the Excursion forward your completed reservation form and non-refundable deposit in the amount of $500 CAD per person to reserve your excursion.
  • Please fill out the form with the information exactly as it appears on your passport.
  • Minimum age of participation is 19. Participants younger then 19 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The person who first appears on the form (in the case of a group or family) is the person responsible for the booking.
  • The booking form can be downloaded, printed, and sent to CHWTI by email attachment.
  • Upon receipt of completed booking form and deposit, we will acknowledge your booking in writing with a confirmation letter.
  • The participant should then proceed to book their Air Travel through our recommended licensed travel agent or a travel professional of your choice.
  • The participant is required to notify CHWTI should they choose to book through their own travel professional as to the name of the company and flight details both for departure and return.

All Land Program excursions require a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 CAD per person. The deposit will confirm your reservation until 60 days prior to departure, at which time the balance of the payment is due in full.

Upon registration:
Upon registration and receipt of your deposit you will receive a confirmation letter and pre-departure information, full program itinerary, as well as forms to be filled out in regard to health information, special food requirements, allergies, and mobility issues.

Insurance is an important part of the booking process. It is mandatory for every participant to have the following:

  • Flight and trip cancellation insurance
  • Travel Medical insurance

Proof of the above insurance must be provided prior to 45 days before departure or CHWTI reserves the right to cancel your excursion.

It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that they have a valid passport (expiry date valid for 6 months after departure) and the necessary visa for Italy (if required). If you are booking your own Air Travel arrangements, it is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they have the necessary visa for any additional countries they may be in transit.

Payment has been quoted in EUROS in order to minimise any surcharges due to changes in currency rates. All costs of the Land Program/excursion are in Euros. Clients have the option of paying in the equivalent Canadian currency. The amount of the non-refundable deposit in CAD $ will be deducted from the balance due at the currency exchange rate based on the date the deposit was received, according to the current daily Canadian Bank exchange rate. Participants may choose to pay the deposit in EUROS (minimum of 400 Euros).

No surcharges will be levied 30 days before the beginning of the Land Program.
If the surcharges come to more then 10% of the cost of the Land Program the participant may
cancel with 100% refund.

Airfare/air travel is an additional cost and “not” included in the Land Program/excursion.

Payment for the Land Program/excursion (inclusive of all walking seminars and lectures, reservations for hotels, agriturismo, meals as indicated, cantina and wine tasting for the duration of the excursion, including interior transportation for all walking seminars and excursions) is payable to Cultural Heritage Walking Tours, Italy.

Payment must be made in full no later than 60 days prior to the commencement of the Land Program/excursion or upon booking if the booking occurs after 60 days.

Payment may be made by cheque or wire transfer to the Canadian registered bank account of Cultural Heritage Walking Tours Italy.

Payment for Air Travel and trip cancellation insurance is to be arranged directly by participants with our recommended licensed travel agent or through your own travel professional.

If you decide to cancel your trip, you must notify CHWTI immediately in writing. Your deposit for the Land Program/excursion is non-refundable. Bookings are not transferable.

You may cancel your booking by giving written notice to CHWTI, and the following charges will apply, depending on when the written notice is received prior to the commencement of the Land Program/excursion.

Deposit for the Land Program/excursion is not refundable.

Cancellation more than 90 days before the commencement of the Land Program, only deposit is non-refundable.

Cancellation 90 days to 61 days before the commencement of the Land Program, 40% of excursion cost will be deducted.

Cancellation 60 days or less before the commencement of the Land Program, 100% of excursion cost will be deducted.

For Airfare, your trip cancellation will be covered by your trip cancellation insurance, and any conditions determined by the air carrier.

Alteration or Cancellation by us:
Excursions are based on a minimum number of participants, if bookings do not reach the minimum number we will endeavour to continue, but we reserve the right until six weeks prior to the commencement date of the Land Program to cancel the tour and give you a full refund of the amount that you have paid.

CHWTI is not responsible for the cancellation of a Land Program/Excursion after 60 days prior to the commencement date due to a force majeure – determined as actual or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial or labour dispute or strike, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire, earthquake, volcanic eruption, and all similar events outside the control of CHWTI. We will endeavour to book your excursion at another time.

Internal Transportation
For internal transportation to, from, and in between sites, you are allowed one piece of luggage and one carry-on bag. If you exceed this limit there may not be space on the coach/maxi-van for your excess luggage, and it will be at your expense to have it transported throughout the excursion.

Participation on excursion
CHWTI reserves the right not to retain any participant on the excursion whose condition or general comportment impedes the operation of the excursion, or in the opinion of the excursion manager, affects the rights and enjoyment of the other participants. A participant not retained on the excursion shall have no cause for complaint or refund, and shall bear any and all extra expenses that ensue.

No Smoking/No Cell Phones
CHWTI has a no smoking policy for all our internal transportation, at group meals, and at sites visited. The same policy applies to the use of cellular phones.

Liability waiver:
All Land Program services (including accommodation, hotels, agriturismo, restaurants, cantinas, wine tastings, walking seminars and lectures, internal transportation to sites and hotels, and any related services) are organised by Cultural Heritage Walking Tours Italy. Notice is hereby given that all arrangements on behalf of participants are made by Cultural Heritage Walking Tours Italy on the sole condition that Cultural Heritage Walking Tours Italy shall not be held responsible for any injury, death, accident, delay, loss, damage, or irregularity, which may be occasioned through acts of any company and/or service, or persons engaged in carrying out arrangements and services described herein or otherwise in connection with herewith.

Information contained on Cultural Heritage Walking Tours, Italy (CHWTI) website and current brochures is correct to the best of our knowledge, but Cultural Heritage Walking Tours, Italy accepts no liability for any inaccuracies. CHWTI reserves the right to alter any itinerary or service as CHWTI sees appropriate at any time without penalty. Any additional expense or cancellation cost shall be borne by the participants. CHWTI reserves the right to withdraw or refuse any service to any participant at its discretion.

Since schedules are determined months in advance, changes in dates, accommodations, seminar leaders, lecturers, or routes may become necessary prior to or during the excursion.

The cost of the Land Program/excursion does not include any additional accommodation and meals due to delays, emergency evacuation costs, or transportation to or from your home to the departure point. CHWTI reserves the right to cancel any Land Program/excursion prior to departure for any reason, in which case participants will be given a full refund. Participants will not be entitled to make any further claim for any injury, loss, expenses, or damage (either direct or consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience that may result from cancellation (including but not limited to airline tickets, visa, passport, and vaccination charges, or departure, airport, or airline taxes. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no refund will be given for Land Program/excursion cancellation due to circumstances beyond CHWTI’s control, including travel advisories, political turmoil, or environmental disasters that may render the destination unsuitable or unsafe.

For participants making their own flight arrangements (other then our recommended travel agent) CHWTI can not accept any responsibility for the late arrival of such flights and that any such delay could result in missing the Land Program/excursion departure for the next site or in incurring additional expenses. The participant is responsible for notifying CHWTI of any delay in arrival or change in air itinerary. Brochures, reservation forms, and these terms and conditions are not issued on behalf of, and do not commit to, any airline whose services are used or proposed to be used in the course of the excursion.

Airfares arranged through our recommended travel agent or alternative travel professional will be subject to the rules and regulations as determined by the air carrier.
